Q - What is SORN

A - You will need to declare SORN( Statutory Off Road Notification ) if you are taking your car off the road and storing/using it on private land. This applies to vehicles that are registered in your name and have not been sold, scrapped or exported. It includes vehicles that you have just bought and will be registered in your name.

You can use a V14 form available from a Post Office, or if you do not have a licence disc to return you can use a V33 form available from a local DVLA office. www.direct.gov.uk/motoring
